The Opiated Sherpa's Canadian Men's Olympic Hockey Team Selection Pool

FEE:  None, its free to join.

PRIZE:  None, its free to play, which means there is no cash to dole out.  Problems?  This is strictly for bragging rights, if you have someone to brag to.

ENTRIES:  Please, only one.  If I get more than one, I will use the last one you send me.

DESCRIPTION:  Okay, this is really simple.  On the selection page, you will have the opportunity to select from the drop down boxes, a player to fit every position available on the Team Canada roster.  It's a 23-man roster, so the spots are limited.  13 forwards, 7 defensemen, 3 goalies.  This is all nicely laid out for you, so all you have to worry about is repeat selections, which I don't have a guard against.  This is a pretty low-tech operation I'm running here, so please bear with me.

DEADLINE:  The team is scheduled to be announced on December 30th, 2009 in the morning, so the deadline will be Midnight Pacific Time of December 30th, 2009 and any e-mails sent in after that time will not be counted towards the mini-competition we have going here.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT:  Here's the kicker, the team is only going to be announced on the 30th, but the actual team that will play will be registered on February 15th, 2010, the day before the tournament starts.  This pool is to select who is going to play in the Olympics in February, so if there are any injuries to the selected 23 that will be announced on the 30th, there will have to be changes and more chances for your team to correct its mistakes by February.  Saying this, the winner will be announced on February 16, 2010, the start of the tournament, when the final roster is decided.  Sound good?  Good.

The deadline is in place so you cannot have the 23-man roster announced and filled in on the chance that all of the players will be a part of the team in February.  Where is the fun in that?

JUST AN FYI:  I have a box on the Sheet asking which is the best way to get a hold of you.  If you throw your e-mail address in there, I won't be selling it or any of that garbage.  I could really care less about that crap.  I just want an address to let you know when the guesses are posted and when the results are available.
